 Winners of the 2007 Western Regional Design Competition were announced at an awards banquet held Saturday evening, June 16 at the White Oak Winery in Healdsburg, Calif.  The festive weekend began Friday evening with a welcome reception at Cokas-Diko in Windsor.  Presented by the Wine Country Chapter of The Interior Design Society (IDS), the Western Regional Design Competition (WRDC) was initiated to bring recognition to the brilliant array of interior design professionals practicing in the residential field.

"In our chapter’s first year sponsoring the awards, we were delighted to have such great participation from all the western chapters," said IDS Wine Country President, Nita Wright.  "The WRDC was launched four years ago by the Northern California Chapter.  We appreciate their initial vision, and we also look forward to continued growth and development."

The 2007 Western Regional Design Competition was open to all interior designers who are IDS members in good standing in the Western United States, including Alaska and Hawaii and students of any recognized design program.
 Judging categories included Best Living Room, Best Dining Room, Best Kitchen, Best Master Bedroom, Best Guest Bedroom, Best Youth Bedroom, Best Bathroom, Best Family Room, Best Living Room, Best Home Office, Best Outdoor Space, Best Wall Treatment, Best Fireplace, Best Accessory Vignette, Best Showroom Vignette and Designer of the Year.  The judging panel was comprised of seasoned trade professionals from Energy Plus, Pro Source and Cokas-Diko.
 
The Interior Design Society (IDS), a national organization founded in 1973, is the largest design organization exclusively dedicated to serving the residential interior design industry.  Membership in The Interior Design Society attests commitment to excellence in the field of residential design.   The IDS is based in High Point, North Carolina.
